BMA Print Fair, Part 2!

The BMA Print Fair was a lot of fun, and I have to thank everyone that came out to check out the DIY Marketplace and supported us!

It was a beautiful spring day- look at those cherry blossoms outside the BMA. Sweet!

Here's the table at the beginning of the day, you can see a lot of the fantastic work from Kali and Laura on display, as well as me dreaming of caffeine.

More from Laura:

My corner of comics:

It was great to see a ton of friends and familiar faces throughout the day. Thanks to Preston Bautista from the BMA for organizing things, and to all of you who came out!

Holidays

Things slowed down a bit production-wise in the studio over the holidays, as such things are wont to do. While I polish a few things I'm finishing, take heart in all the wonderful fluffy pals we got to see this fine holiday season.

Usually I don't condone dressing up animals, but Boomer seemed both comfortable and dapper in his new sweater.

See if you can spot Murphy, master of creeping around.

Radar seems to fluctuate between slinky and plank of wood; here we see the latter.

AJ in a familiar state...

...and then giving it his all in an attempt at basic obedience.

Mike

Mike always tells the best stories! Mike was visiting the other day, helping pose for some new paintings of Laura's, and while he regaled us with some of his tall tales he got sketched.

Do You Wanna Dance?, Part II

Remember these guys? I teamed up with my partner in crime, Laura Shema, to make this. For a folio based on the theme "Frequently Asked Questions," we went with the question "Do You Wanna Dance?", in the tradition of the great Beach Boys, Ramones, and nerds and sweaty club-goers the world over. I did the drawings, and Laura did all the hard work- composing the final image, putting together the color and text, and screenprinting them all to boot.

Baltimore friends!

Gant graced my sketchbook last week, and then I drew our friend Mike while relaxing at our favorite college haunt after SPX this weekend.

Multitudinous Links

I went to NYC this weekend (with Sue guiding me through Jersey transit) and saw illustration friends Ray, Laura, Natalie and Joe along the way, and had a really great time checking out an extremely tiny fraction of things the city has to offer. Personal favorite was the Giant Robot store and gallery, where we happened to stumble into the opening for Tides of March, which has some really great pieces in it. Alexia Stamatiou was a favorite of Laura's and mine, and Mollie Goldstrom (Bralph on Mollie: "Yup. She's goin' places.") and Andrew DeGraff's stuff was also right up my alley.

PLUG!

My lady Laura has curated a show for the Sheppard Art Gallery featuring work by three really awesome artists: Adrienne Figus, Elizabeth Graeber, and Lexy Singer. I think it's going to be a pretty awesome show, so if you want, show up tomorrow (Saturday, July 28) from 5-8 for the opening, or just drop in sometime throughout August and check it out.

See you tomorrow, if you know what's good for you!

More Websiteage

I just completed another website! It's a portfolio site for Laura, so check it out:

http://www.laurashema.com
It's pretty simple design on my part, and really I'm not posting it so much for what I did, but rather because you should be checking out Laura's art and marvel at how I am dating someone much, much more talented than me.
